One word of advice, please don’t buy the Barman any drinks, you could end up on an all-nighter. It’s the perfect place to get you in the holiday mood or to round off your perfect

Location
The Blue Anchor Inn is situated 48.5km north of Maputo on the EN1 North road. Take the Xai- Xai off-ramp just after the Maputo Toll Plaza and turn left onto the EN1. This road takes you to all the coastal destinations north of the capital city of Maputo.
A scenic 48.5km up the EN1 you will discover the "Ultra-City Snack Bar" on your left. Look out for the “Blue Anchor Inn” sign directly after this. We are located just a short distance off the main road behind this - a great landmark is our plantation of bluegum trees lining the main road. When you spot these, slow down, you're home...

These all come in quite useful since the Garmin GPS Mapit Software does not yet have adequate maps for Mozambique therefore auto routing cannot be used. For anyone travelling to Moz with a Garmin Quest, which is what most seem to use, you can download the Mozambique Maps off the www.tracks4africa.co.za website. These maps are compatible for use in Garmin together with the Mapsource program that you use to setup the Garmin. The cost is probably less than R 60. The Garmin will not route verbally but the driver can pre-install the waypoints so that you will at least know that you on the right road or where you should look out for a turnoff
