Travel Requirements
* South African passport holders do not need a visa at the moment when entering Mozambique if the stay is less than 30 days, Other passport holders do need visas.....
* Valid visa, which should be obtained prior to your visit, please note: if the period issued on your visa is exceeded, a fine of R500.00 per day will be charged of everyday overstayed.
* Current driver‘s license or International driver’s license ( a Mozambican driver’s license is required if staying for more than 6 months)
* If entering the country with more than $US5000( or equivalent) , a “Declaration of entry of foreign currency” must be completed at the customs desk. The Declaration must be shown if leaving with more than $US( or equivalent).
* The gift allowance is $US 100, import duty must be paid on gifts above $US100 in value

Individual duty free fiscal allowances are granted monthly in respect of goods imported by travellers which are intended for personal or family use:
* * TOBACCO PRODUCTS; 200 Cigarettes OR 100 Cigarillos OR 50 Cigars OR 250 grams of smoking tobacco
* * ALCOHOLIC DRINKS; 1 Litre of spirits AND 2.25 Litres of wine
* PERFUMES; 50ml of Perfume OR 250 ml of Eau de Toilett
* PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS ; Quantity considered reasonable for personal consumption
* OTHER GOODS; Up to the value of 50USD ( or equivalent)
* The allowances marked do not apply to persons under 18 years of age
Note: No drugs, firearms, or explosive materials can be brought into Mozambique.

South African passport holders DO need a visa for business purposes,But NOT when traveling on Holiday.
Other passport holders do need a visa for business and Holiday.
Holiday Visas
SINGLE ENTRY - Valid for 2 months,with a 30 Day stay
DOUBLE ENTRY- Valid for 2 months,2 x Entries with a 30 Day stay on each entry.
Business Visas
MULTIPLE ENTRY 3 MONTHS-Valid for 3 Months,with a 30 day stay at the time.
MULTIPLE ENTRY 6 MONTHS-Valid for 6 Months ,with a 10 Day Stay at the time.
CURRENCY INFO
Mozambique's local currency is the Metical, however the US Dollar and the Rand are widely accepted. It is advisable to carry cash or Travellers cheques as credit cards are not widely accepted.

Transport
There are numerous private minibus operators and reliable public transport companies throughout the Southern and Central regions of the country such as Maputo, Gaza, Inhambane, Sofala and Manica.
There are also bus companies providing transport between Maputo and neighbouring countries in comfortable, air-conditioned buses. Train services run between Maputo and Johannesburg and Maputo and Durban 3 times a week.
Car rental is, nevertheless, an ideal method of exploring a unique country, unpredictable wildlife notwithstanding
The best way to travel is to fly there are flights between Johannesburg and Maputo and Johannesburg and the popular resorts in Northern Mozambique and the all do tranfers from the airports

Normal business hours are between 08hoo - 12h00 and 14h00 - 17h30.

Drive Safely in Mozambique:
* Give way to the right. At traffic circles or roundabouts, cars on the circle have priority.
* The transit laws in Mozambique require that seat belts are worn at all the times and all vehicles must have two emergency triangles ( fines are currently under review).
* The speed limit is 70Km/h on open roads and 40Km/h in cities and towns.
* Traffic laws should be followed at all times and please request a receipt if a fine is levied for any transgression.
* All documents and luggage can be inspected at checkpoints.
It is best to keep your tank filled as the distances between filling stations can be great and try to drive during day time hours when there is less chance of accidents.
Go fishing but know the rules
Mozambique has some of the best whale, dolphin watching and game fishing in the world including marlin, shark, rays, and barracuda.
A “ fishing sport license “ is required for all the water sports, including fishing competitions, and can be obtained from the Maritime Administrator in each provincial capital city or from a yacht club
Boats can only be launched from access roads. Noise should be minimized and care must be shown for the safety of people on the beaches ( maximum speed 15Km/h).
Please do not interfere with the activities of the local fisherman that depend on fishing for their livelihoods.

Enjoy the beaches
Mozambique has many beautiful, pristine beaches along its 2.700Km coastline. Camping is therefore only permitted in demarcated and authorized areas so as not to spoil the beaches for everyone’s enjoyment. Please assist by keeping campsites free of rubbish.
* Fires are only allowed in areas arranged for that purpose.
* Pets are not allowed in camping areas.
* Vehicles are not allowed in areas where there are no existing roads, because of the risk of land mines.
* When recruiting local people, agree on the rates for the service beforehand, so as to minimize exploitation. Children often stay away from school to earn an extra income.
* Driving on beaches is not allowed as it kills the animal life. Use existing roads and paths only when accessing the beaches.
* Fires, littering, the use of fire works, and the processing of fish are prohibited on all the beaches in Mozambique.
